Greeting from the West
Greetings from your Senior Warden in the west. After our lodge being dark for a month its time to get back to business. With the end of the year around the corner I'm finalizing my calendar and budget for next year and soon you will know the names of the officers for next year.
We have a couple of new officers who i know will make a difference and who will be a big asset to our line of officers and to our Lodge in general. I would like to thank the brethren and Past Masters who offered their help and support to me through my year as Sr. Warden and for that, I am truly grateful.
This year 2010 has been a learning experience and sense of pride for me. I have had the opportunity to attend the Warden's Retreat and also other Masonic functions representing this great Lodge as Senior Warden. When I'm asked what lodge I belong to I raise my head up high and with great pride i say that I'm the Senior Warden for Downey United #220.
I have also had the pleasure of sitting in the East to confer the second degree of Masonry to at Least 7 brothers. I have one for the records, on July 29 I conferred 3 second degrees in one night to Brothers Michael Twitchell, Jesse Gutierrez and Jesus Cosio and according to some Past Masters this is the first time that our lodge had performed 3 second degrees in one night.
I'm now looking forward to sitting in the East to perform 3rd degrees but most importantly sitting in the East as Master of our great lodge Downey United #220.
